Greetings!
This will be the very first post being written and posted officially over on Ricol’s Blog, as opposed to TICs do ricol. I hope you guys have liked my older posts thusfar, I had to copy them over from WordPress and manually adjust them to my new Hugo way of doing things. Also I had to translate them to English, which also took some time. For the sake of keeping my old work, I kept the Portuguese versions of those posts available as an alternative language. Though, from here onwards, I’ll do my posts in English, except for rare occasions. Overall, I have been feeling really happy with how the blog looks, it looks modern but with some old school blood of the 90s, early 00s web. I find the blend to be perfect.
Anyways, I figured I should give a few heads-up regarding things going forward. As you could’ve seen over on the About page, this blog is the sucessor to TICs do ricol, as I thought writing about more topics could be nice. Granted, tech in general will still take a big chunk of the posts I’ll produce, but some projects I’ve been wanting to do that aren’t tech related would probably not see the light of day had I not changed the focus of my blog. I’d like to have some sort of comment section on my posts, though having made this site with Hugo, as well as having my concerns about bots and scams filling my comment sections without creating an account are the biggest issues. Hit me up if you have any idea on how to do this.
Regarding the posts themselves, my ideas and pending posts from TICs do ricol will obviously carry over to this blog, as well as new ones I’m currently working on. Without revealing too much, from the new batch I have an alternate history post as well as a fanfiction in the works, which I will post eventually. From the old batch of posts inherited from TICs do ricol, I have a retrospective about A/UX, Apple’s version of Unix from the 90s, as well as a post about UMPCs and their legacy.
